Run Up Security Card is type of security system that prevents the users from getting hacked, mainly by serving as an additonal layer of security on top of the password. Hence, this nulls out the probability of getting hacked via Scam/Phishing Sites, Keyloggers and Eye Loggers.
In the Sample Security Login section indicated in the picture, the characters [A,1][E,6][F,2][B,8] are the Random Codes. These codes are translated with the use of the Security Card through plotting the letter & number as coordinates.
Example:
[A,1] = 6
[E,6] = 8
[F,2] = S
[B,8] = 4
In sequence, the Security Code is then 68S4.
Please be sure that you have the most secure operating system environment on your computer by running Windows Update (if you own a Windows-based PC) or Software Update (if you own a Mac) and installing all of the updates marked "High Priority". Note: you may have to run the updater more than once to ensure you have all the high priority updates; many of the patches require a system restart, and then additional patch installations to complete the process.
This term refers to an email or a website, typically sent to a large number of players from a person that pretends to be an employee of Run Up in an attempt to persuade the user to reveal private information. If account information is sent to one of these websites and emails, it usually ends up in a thief's database list of accounts to steal.
There are only four places where you should EVER type your password:
If you're not certain you're at the official page, you can always manually go to http://www.runup.com.ph.
Viruses, trojan applications and key-loggers are programs that can steal your account information. These types of programs appear as executable programs which you can download and run in your computer. Hackers and account thieves like to put their viruses, key-loggers, etc into executable files and then make those files very appealing to trick the gamers like Teleportation Cheats, Money Hack, etc. The majority of these programs, if they actually DO what they claim, will first off place a user in a serious violation of our Game Policy, which may result in permanent account closure. However, the issue we are addressing here is that ANY unsupported and unofficial executable program (whether it "works" or not) is a perfect and all-too-common way for a hacker to get something onto the system of the gamers.
Never share your password and other important account information to anyone. Keeping your account secured is the gamers' sole responsibility.
Aside from phishing sites and Trojans, sharing of password and account information is also the top reason behind account hacking. Sharing it to a friend, spouse, pilot or any person you think you trust may danger your account's security. So, practice the most basic measure, do not share your password to anyone.
